JOSH HORWITZ TO CONTRIBUTE TO FIRST-EVER GUN VIOLENCE MASSIVE OPEN ONLINE COURSE

Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence Executive Director Josh Horwitz will serve as a guest faculty member for Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health’s massive open online course (MOOC) entitled “Reducing Gun Violence in America: Evidence for Change.” The course — the first-ever MOOC focused on gun violence — launched today.

Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence Executive Director Josh Horwitz issued the following statement:

“I am honored to join some of the world’s leading gun violence prevention researchers to discuss reducing gun violence in the United States. This tuition-free, first-of-its-kind MOOC will teach participants how to interpret gun violence prevention research and understand evidence-based interventions that save lives.

“We at the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence take our role as public health professionals seriously. The MOOC will allow us to translate that work and expertise for people around the world. We could not be more thrilled to share our data-driven approach with a global audience.”
