On February 10, 2016, Josh Horwitz, Executive Director of the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence, submitted testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee on S. 2002, the "Mental Health and Safe Communities Act of 2015." The hearing was titled, “Breaking the Cycle: Mental Health and the Justice System.”

Ed Fund Executive Joshua Horwitz, Legal Counsel Kelly Ward, and former Public Health Fellow Anna Grilley have coauthored a chapter entitled “Preventing Gun Violence: Decreasing Access to Firearms during Times of Crisis” in the recently published book, Gun Violence and Mental Illness.

On November 19, 2015, the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence (Ed Fund), in partnership with New Yorkers Against Gun Violence (NYAGV) and New York Legislators for Gun Violence Prevention (NYLGVP), convened a forum at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City to discuss gun violence prevention policies.
