Law and Policy Fellowship

The Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence (Ed Fund) and the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) seek a Law and Policy Fellow to work on a part-time, contractual basis to help research and compare gun laws across states.

The Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence (Ed Fund), a 501(c)(3) organization, and the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV), a 501(c)(4) organization, develop, and advocate for evidence-based solutions to reduce gun injury and death in all its forms.

Description of Responsibilities:

The fellow will be expected to:

  • Perform legal and legislative research.
  • Analyze and summarize legislation.
  • Work with local stakeholders and partners.
  • Complete other work as assigned.



  • J.D. or current/rising 3L.
  • A strong commitment to gun violence prevention and desire to develop expertise and comprehensive knowledge of this field.
  • Excellent legal research and writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex legal information for a lay audience. 
  • Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers, other gun violence prevention organizations, and other stakeholders (e.g. legislators, prosecutors, law enforcement, domestic violence prevention advocates, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently. 


  • Background in the following areas: firearms law, domestic violence law, constitutional law, public policy. 

Position Type: Part-time, contractual. 20 hours per week.

Position Classification: Exempt.

Location: Washington, DC preferred.

Pay Range: $20 to 25/hour, commensurate with experience.

Travel: Some travel may be required.
