Job Description:

The Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence (Ed Fund) [a 501(c)(3) and its sister organization, Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (Coalition) [a 501(c)(4) charitable organization], are looking to hire a part-time Intern.

We are looking for a hard-working, highly organized, and detail-oriented individual who is also passionate about our mission of gun violence prevention. Ideal candidates should be able to take initiative and work independently. This position requires a diverse skill set so candidates should be flexible and willing to learn. The person in this position will work closely with our Senior Director of Operations, Development Associate, and Office Administrator. 

Position Type: Part-time, 2-3 days a week

Start Date: As soon as possible. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Office Administrator, Development Associate, and Senior Director of Operations with a diverse array of tasks including:
    • Sorting the mail
    • Finalizing donor acknowledgements
    • Updating donor information
    • Data entry
    • Other assignments as needed
  • In-house accounting:
    • Entering check information
    • Making deposits
    • Communicating with our external accountants


Qualifications and skills:

  • Working towards or a completed bachelor’s degree
  • Previous office experience preferred
  • Data entry experience – preferably with Blue State Digital or other fundraising programs
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong writing, grammer, and editing skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
  • Must have access to a personal laptop
