Consortium Researchers and Local Experts Convene at the Medical Society of Delaware

On March 7, 2016, the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence, in partnership with the Delaware Coalition Against Gun Violence and Americans for Responsible Solutions, convened a forum at the Medical Society of Delaware to discuss gun violence prevention policies.



New Report on Removing Firearms from Domestic Abusers

On February 17, 2016, the Consortium for Risk Based Firearm Policy and Prosecutors Against Gun Violence (PAGV) released a new report titled, “Firearm Removal/Retrieval in Cases of Domestic Violence.” The report provides a comprehensive overview of best practices for firearm removal in cases of domestic violence. Kelly Roskam, legal counsel for the Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence (Ed Fund), had a leading role in developing and writing the report.



Expert Testimony For Senate Hearing on Mental Health Bill

On February 10, 2016, members of the Consortium for Risk-Based Firearm Policy ( Dr. Jeffrey Swanson and Dr. Marvin Swartz of Duke University; Dr. Paul Appelbaum of Columbia University; and Richard Bonnie of the University of Virginia School of Law) provided testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee on S. 2002, the "Mental Health and Safe Communities Act of 2015." The hearing was titled, “Breaking the Cycle: Mental Health and the Justice System.”
